Microsoft Autopilot is a modern device deployment method, leveraging the power of Azure and Intune, to provide end users with a seamless setup experience for their new workstations. When receiving a new device from the IT department, you can follow these steps for a guided setup.
Objective:
Guide Camin Cargo Employees through the process of setting up their new workstation using Autopilot and Intune, ensuring a secure and streamlined configuration.
Steps:
1. Power On the Device:
- Turn on your new workstation and wait for the initial Windows setup screen.
2. Connect to the Internet:
- You'll need an active internet connection to proceed. Connect to your corporate Wi-Fi network or use a wired connection if available.
3. Enter Your Azure AD Credentials:
- When prompted, enter your company email and password. This associates your device with Microsoft Azure and initiates the Autopilot process.
4. Follow the On-Screen Prompts:
- The device will communicate with Microsoft Azure and display a customized setup experience tailored for Camin Cargo Employees.
5. Device Configuration with Intune:
- Intune will automatically begin to apply device configurations, apps, and updates specific to our organization. This may take some time, and your device may restart.
6. Finalize the Setup:
- Once Intune completes its provisioning, you'll be presented with your familiar Windows desktop environment, ready to use.
Tips for a Smooth Setup:
- Ensure your workstation remains connected to the internet throughout the setup process.
- If prompted, it's essential to only restart or shut down your device when instructed to ensure proper configuration.
- Have your Azure AD credentials (company email and password) on hand before starting.
Precautions:
- Do not interrupt the Intune provisioning process once it begins.
- If you encounter any errors or face prolonged setup times, contact the IT department for assistance.
